Introduction
Yayasan Social Wanita Malaysia or Social Women’s Foundation of Malaysia was officially registered with the Government of Malaysia in 2008. The foundation has been a facilitator for Women to become drivers of inclusion, empowerment and sustainability. Since its establishment the foundation has adopted gender equality and empowerment as its cornerstone development motivation. YSWM has recently prioritised the inclusion of Special Needs People in all its work programmes. YSWM is a supporter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals partnerships for Women, Special Needs especially Children and Youth and the Community.

“Founded in 2008, Yayasan Social Wanita Malaysia or Social Women’s Foundation of Malaysia has been a non-partisan facilitator for Women to become drivers of inclusion, empowerment and sustainability. Since its establishment the foundation has adopted gender equality and empowerment as its cornerstone development motivation. YSWM has recently prioritised the inclusion of Special Needs People in all its work programmes. YSWM is a supporter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals partnerships for Women, Special Needs people, especially Children and Youth and the Community. YSWM work focuses on three (3) key thematic programme pillars: a) inclusivity; b) empowerment; and c) sustainability. As one of the founders of YSWM, I believe that both women and men play an important role in enabling inclusivity, empowerment and sustainability in society”
